ABTA Insurance Exam
The Association of British Travel Agents, ABTA, requirement is to have all employees within the travel industry sit and pass a basic knowledge examination about travel insurance at level 1. Part of the guidelines is also to have at least one employee per branch qualified to level 2; in call centres this ratio is one person per eight employees must be qualified to level 2.
The costs to sit the paper based examination, endorsed by Edexcel is as follows:-
- Under 250 employees = level 1 or level 2 = £25
- Under 250 employees = combined level 1 and 2 = £35
- Over 250 employees (group rate depending on logistics) = level 1 or level 2 = £17
- Over 250 employees (group rate depending on logistics) = combined level 1 and 2 = £28
- All resits are charged at the original cost base.
Training materials are supplied within this cost and can be by way of paper based workbook or online training providing you have reasonable access to the internet.
These examinations can also be sat online, endorsed by City and Guilds. The cost for this is £25, resits are £25 and there is no L1/L2 ‘combined’ cost availability.
Training For Travel requires the name of candidates and dates of birth in order to register candidates.
