Previous Experience:
I worked as a travel consultant with Going Places for 5 years and then as Senior Travel Consultant with Thomas Cook for another 5 before working at Warwickshire College as Travel Agency Manager and NVQ Assessor for 8 years.

Previous Experience:
I worked for Lunn Poly, Going Places as a manager and sales advisor and then with Thomson overseas. I also worked in Apollo Call Centre before beginning work as an NVQ assessor.
About Me:
I have worked in the travel industry for 17 years and have worked in many areas including business travel, call centre operations, retail and overseas. I feel very lucky to do a job I enjoy each day.

Previous Experience:
I spent 10 years working for Holidaybreak, predominantly as an Overseas Area Manager but with 2 years as a Contract Negotiator. I have also worked for Mark Warner in overseas winter operations and more recently I co-managed Crystal Ski's flagship hotel: Le Viking in Morzine
About Me:
Since graduating I have spent more time living and working in France than in the UK. I love travel, languages and experiences different cultures. I always enjoyed the staff development part of my job as a manager and the assessor role allows me to focus on this in greater depth.

Previous Experience:
 I started my travel career at the age of 18 working for an independant agency and then Sunwin Travel. I have since spent 13 years as a Store Manager for Going Places in Yorkshire, with 6 years as a Store Manager for AT Mays in the London area.
About Me:
Travel is in my blood, I can't ever imagine being in any other industry! Assessing at TFT is a great experience and I love it!

Previous Experience:
I started working as a Modern Appretice for Going Places when I was 16 and I gained my Levels 2 and 3 in Travel Services. After several years there I joined the Co-operative Travel as an Assistant Manager for 4 years working in several branches and as an Area Relief Manager.
About Me:
I love being out in different branches meeting different peopl and find the travel industry an exciting, rewarding industry to work in.

Assessment Area: Lancashire and Cumbria
Previous Experience:
I worked in travel for over 16 years with Lunn Poly and then Thomsons as a Sales Consultant, Assistant Manager and Branch Manager before I became a Trainer with them. I also worked at Travelcare as a Branch Manager for 9 months before deciding to follow my passion as an assessor.
About Me:
Having worked in travel for so long I feel a passion to assess this area and share my knowledge. I enjoy going out in the field and meeting people whilst using my experience to give my learners help and support.I also love travelling abroad with my family.

Previous Experience:
I spent 4 summer seasons as an Overseas Area Operations Manager for Holidaybreak, working in Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy. This was followed by 2 years as Customer Service Manager for Mark Warner in London and 3 years as Hotel Manager for Mark Warner and Crystal Ski & Active in France.
About Me:
Working with seasonal staff I only have limited time to guide and develop learners but I get to live in a stunning location and ski most weekends!

Previous Experience:
I worked for 4 years at Lunn Poly, follwed by 1 year at St. Andrews Travel as an agent. I then spent just over 3 years teach Travel and Tourism at a college.
About Me:
Travel is my passion from selling the world to travelling the world and now to teaching about travel and helping others to sell the world.
 
Name: Lucy Ellis          Role: Assessment and Quality Assistant Manager
Assessment Area: Greater Manchester
Previous Experience:
I started working in travel at 16. I worked at Cresta Holidays and was a TFT Travel and Tourism Apprentice! At Cresta I worked in Eurostar, VIP and Cities Reservations before moving to work in the Pre-Travel Services Deartment where I deal with any customer service queries. From there I spent a little while as a Holiday Rep before coming to TFT as an assessor and trainer.
About Me:
I always wanted to work in the travel industry as it seemed so much fun - which it actually is! It is a happy, friendly industry to work in and I love meeting new people, constantly upating my skills and being able to help people gain more qualifications!

Previous Experience:
I started working in travel at Cresta Holidays where I was one of TFT's first Travel and Tourism Apprentices. Whilst at Cresta I worked in reservations and was regularly the top seller and I was then promoted to Special Operations.Whilst at Cresta I worked towards a Certificate in Education through working with TFT before joining the TFT team full time where I now assess and internally verify.
About Me:
I have always loved the travel industry and, having started as an apprentice myself, I found the chance to share my knowledge and experience with people starting out in the industry really satisfying. Now I can support the team of assessors at TFT to do just that whilst also developing exciting new opportunities for our company, staff and learners which is great fun!

I worked for an independent travel agency for over 2 years before spending six years as a manager for Lunn Poly in the Birmingham and District region.
About Me:
After studying Travel and Tourism at college for over 3 years and becomming hooked on the industry, I've travelled extensively, met lots of wonderful people and now use this experience to enhance my assessment role. It is great to see some old friends when I am on the road assessing but it is also wonderful to have the opportunity to help new starters on to their career ladder.

I first got into travel when I did an HND in Travel and Tourism Management which included 2 summers with Keycamp Holidays in France.I then worked as a holiday rep for JMC in Majorca and Tenerife before settiling home and working for The Co-operative Travel in the Foreign Exchange.
About Me:
I started at TFT after working for another provider and I am really enjoying being back in the Travel Industry. The best part of being an assessor is getting out and about seeing different people everyday.

Previous Experience:
I worked with Going Places for 10 years, working my way from trainee to manager in that time.I then worked at Holiday hypermarkets where I started as a Team Leader and worked my way to General Manager. I then worked as a rep for Travel City Direct in Orlando, Florida for a year before a brief spell as a Supervisor at Global Travel call centre.
About Me: 
I have been in the travel industry for all of my working life and I also live to travel myself and I have seen lots of America whilst I was out there. I love my jobas an assessor and I feel that having worked in all parts of the industry helps with my role as an assessor.

Previous Experience:
I started working in the travel industry aged 18, starting with my family's independent agencies which I eventually managed before working at British Railways, The Co-operative Travel and Thomas Cook in various managerial roles.
About Me:
I have been with Training for Travel for 7 years where I worked as an assessor/trainer and I now internall verify whilst also looking after the Co-operative Travel. I am proud to be one of the first TFT employees and to have been one of the pioneers for the delivery of customer service qualifications!

Previous Experience:
I was with Tui UK for 8 years where I worked my way up to Store Manager before I started to work as an assessor.
About Me:
I always knew I wanted to join the travel industry and once I became a manager I realised my passion was no longer for sales but for training staff. I entered this area of the industry as I feel that everyday I am seeing my learners develop and grow within their roles and this creates a huge sense of achievement for both me and them. I also love to travel myself!

Previous Experience:
I have worked in the travel industry for over 30 years, both with agents and airlines including Thomas Cook and British Airways. I have also done a lot of work teaching and training travel including assessing, examining and verifiying candidates' work.
About Me:
I really enjoy assessing travel and meeting people who love the industry as I do.
 
Name: Sue Ledgard                           Role: Director of Operations
Previous Experience:
I have always worked in the travel industry in various sectors including Tour Operating, Retail and Business Travel. I then moved to become Sales Representative for a Tour Operator specialising in the USA. I then spent 8 years as a Sales Manager at Quantas Jetabout Holidays before coming to work for TFT when it was just a 3 man band in 2000.
About Me:
I am really happy to have worked at TFT since the early days and to have been able to watch it grow into the really successful company it is today. We have great values, great vision and it is a great place to work... I am extremely proud to do so!

Previous Experience:
I have worked in customer service and sales since leaving school in retail shops and call centres whilst gaining my degree in Media. I then joined the TFT team as an assessor and Key Skill Co-ordinator before starting my current role.
About Me:
I love sales and business development as TFT because it is so easy to sell the brilliant training and qualifications we can provide! I have always loved to travel and have also really enjoyed getting to know the travel industry and what goes on behind the scenes.

Previous Experience:
I worked as a Manager for Going Places for 3 years and then Managed a Student Travel Agency
About Me: I believe life would be boring without the opportunities to see and experience new countries and cultures. This is why I love working with young people in the travel industry. They are enthusiastic, want to travel and learn about the world and it's a pleasure helping them do that.
 
Name: Adam Moultrie                         Role: Assessor, Internal Verifier
Assessment Area: South East
Previous Experience: I started off my career as a travel consultant for Lunn Poly and after 3 years was promoted to Assistant Manager. A year later I took a Manager's position at another branch. I then moved to Travel Choice (First Choice) where I managed two shops before deciding I needed a fresh challenge. I then went to become an Assessor/Trainer for a provider in Weston Super Mare and after two years I came to TFT where I have since gained my Internal Verifiers award and I am also the South Team Leader.
About Me: Having worked in travel for a number of years, I find it to be an ever evolving industry. Being an Assessor enales me to remain in the travel sector, whilst passing on my own experiences of life as a travel agent to others. My job satisfaction comes from progressing learners through their NVQ course, and then seeing them go on to become Assistant Managers or indeed Managers of their own branches.
 
Name: Wendy Mulholland                  Role: Assessor
Assessment Area: Lancashire, Staffordshire, Greater Manchester
Previous Experience:
I spent the first 7 years of my travel career at Pickford Travel/Going Places working my way up from a trainee to a Branch Manager before moving on to become a Branch Manager at an independent agent. I then began to work in training at Tameside College where I taught Travel for 12 months before joining the TFT team.
About Me:
I have always had a passion for the Travel Industry which is why I embarked on this career on leaving education. Assessment Area: Kent, Essex and East Sussex
Previous Experience:
I worked in the travel industry for almost 20 years at Tui (formerly Lunn Poly) as an agent progressing in all job roles from being a Youth Trainee and all the way up to  Area Sales Manager.
About Me:
Having worked in the travel industry for so long, and having loved every minute of it, it was the obvious next career step for me to put al my enthusiasm and experience into something that was still travel related. I have never been happier since joining Training for Travel. I am still able to meet and work with lots of interesting people and have so many opportunities for myself aswell!
   
Name: Sarah Nelmes           Role: Director of ILT & Learning & Development
Previous Experience: Prior to joining TFT I was a freelance IT trainer for 6 years, designing and delivering IT solutions throughout the UK across many industries. I then became the IT Manager for Hallmark Cards and then an IT Business Manager for Hallmark Cards International.
About Me: In 2005 I joined TFT as Information Learning Technologies Manager. The scope of this role has coninually expanded in line with business development and emerging technologies and it is these changes that constantly enrich this role.
 
 
Name: Tracy Nix                               Role: Assessor
Assessment Area: West Midlands
Previous Experience:
I have worked in the travel industry for about 16 years, 12 of which have been based in hotel based business travel for international chains such as Intercontinental and Accor as a Key Account Manager. For the past 4 years I have been in leisure travel, running a small independent agency and as the specialist travel advisor.
About Me:
I became involved with apprenticeship programmes when we had 2 learners working for us and as I began to discover what the programme could offer I decided to become qualified as an assessor myself. I still keep up to date with the industry by working in my agency - there is always a new destination to learn about and new places to explore.

I worked at the Cooperative Travel for 10 years in various roles from Travel Consultant, Assistant Manager, Administration Manager and Branch Manager.
About Me:
I love assessing and training as I enjoy communicating and find it very rewarding to be able to pass on my experience of the travel industry and watch learners progress within their roles.
 
Name: Beverley Platt                    Role: Managing Partner
Previous Experience: Before establishing TFT in 1997 I lectured in Travel and Tourism at a college for 8 years having previously worked as a Tour Operator.
About Me: Jo and I met whilst lecturing in travel and tourism and both felt that there was a definite gap within the industry for a professional, quality training service. From there TFT came into being and we are both so proud to see how the company has grown to provide that professional, quality training on a national and international level.
 
Name: Claire Richardson                   Role: Assessor, Internal Verifier
Assessment Area: North East
Previous Experience: I started my career as a Travel Consultant with Bakers Dolphin Travel and then worked with our tailor made department specialising in Birdwatching holidays!! I then moved t work for Condor Ferries as Customer Service Supervisor and Cabin Hostess.
About Me: The main thing I love about my job is the variety - no two days are the same.
 
Name: Nicol Rippon                             Role: Programme Quality Manager
Previous Experience: After completing my degree in Tourism Management, I went to work for Thomas Cook in the foreign exchange. I then decided to work for them overseas and spent a few years as Head Rep in the Balearics and Canary Islands. On my return to the UK I worked for First Choice as Foreign Exchange Manager at the Hypermarket in Sheffield where my training career also started. I then went overseas again to assess and train Thomson Kids Reps. More recently I was a lecturer in Travel and Tourism before joining TFT as an assessor IV.
About Me: I always knew I wanted to work in the travel industry and have been fotunate enough to work both in the UK and overseas. I love the industry and the opportunities there are to travel the world. Now I work in training, I hope to be able to inspire others to do the same and enjoy it as much as I have!

Previous Experience:
I started my career in travel as a Modern Apprentice myself at david Ogden Travel. From there I became an overseas representative for Airtours before coming back to the Uk to work as a Travel Advisor and Assistant Manager for Allplanned Travel and then 9 years as a Branch Manager for The Cooperative Travel.
About Me:
I love the job! I get to meet some very interesting people  and find it very rewarding passing along my experience and knowledge whilst also gaining experience and knowledge from all those I work with within the industry.

Previous Experience: I joined TFT in 1998 as a trainer assessor, after ten years working for Servisair at Manchester Airport as a Passenger Services Suervisor.
About Me: I am so proud to have been TFT's first employee and it's great being part of such a dedicated yet friendly and fun team. Watching the company grow over the years has been a fantastic experience and because it really is a fantastic place to work I'm sure that growth will continue into the future.

About Me: Bev and I met whilst lecturing in travel and tourism and realised there was a definite gap in the travel industry for a quality training company. With this in mind, we set about building a company whose focus was firmly on providing a very high standard of training opportunities to all - whilst also making it an interesting and enjoyable experience for those involved. We are both so proud of TFT and its tremendous success and we are just as excited about the opportunites to develop our company and build new partnerships into the future.
 
Name: Michelle Staniland                 Role: Training Consultant
Previous Experience:
I worked in travel for 19 years, including 6 years as a sales consultant in retail travel followed by 5 years in a call centre environment where I worked from a sales consultant up to Team Leading and Managerial roles. This included becomming a Training and Recruitment Manager position which I held for 4 years. I then came to work at TFT and I now consult as a trainerand internal verifier whilst supporting quality and development.
About Me:
The main thing I love about my job is making a difference. The variety of work including managing individuals, teams and organisational development in any context really inspires me to continue the work I do. I have a real passion for developing and inspiring others and this role allows me to do just that.

Assessment Area: South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire
Previous Experience: I began my career in travel with Thomas Cook where I stayed for 14 years as a Travel Advisor and then as a Customer Service Manager for various branches. I then worked at Apollo Travel call centre for a year before joining TFT.
About Me: I have always received a great deal of satisfaction from working for both TFT and Thomas Cook. Travel is one of the most exciting industries to work in and being able to help people progress in their travel careers through my job as an assessor is very rewarding.

Previous Experience: I worked in retail travel for just over 3 year with Going Places, Travelcare and First Choice before joining American Express selling business travel for just almost 5 years.
About Me: I am so happy to be working as an assesssor, everyday is different and I really enjoy it.

Previous Experience: I started my career as a Junior Travel Consultant and progressed to the position of Retail Manager with various companies including Lunn Poly (as they were known then!) I am now an External Verifier with City and Guilds and I have written assignments and test questions for them in the past.
About Me: This is my fourth year as a consultant with Training for Travel. I have enjoyed being part of their growth and I hope to be part of their exciting future too!

Previous Experience: I worked in travel for over 20 years and for the most part I was a Manager at Thomas Cook.
About Me: I enjoy enhancing our Skills for Life and Learner Support resources to support the assessor delivering the qualifications. I have always loved travel as an agent and a customer and holidaying with my family will always be my favourite thing to do.
 
Name: Fiona Welsh                       Role: Assessor
Assessment Area: Scotland
Previous Experience: I have worked in various roles throughout my career in travel including as an IT Department Manager, Branch Manager, Senior Retail Sales Manager and Training Manager which I did for a short time in Moscow. I very much welcomed the opportunity to join TFT as an assessor as it gave me the opportunity to return to my roots in the travel industry.
About Me: I am very enthusiastic about my role as an assessor. I enjoy visiting the various agencies in my area, allowing me the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and experience to the learners. I take pleasure in helping the learners to achieve their qualifications and am commited to helping the trainees to fulfil their potential.
   
Name: Katy Wilson                      Role: Customer Liaison Manager
Previous Experience:
I started to work in travel after leaving school and became a TFT apprentice whilst working at Cresta Holidays. At Cresta I worked in various areas of reservations and was asked to join a new Customer Travel Services department due to my excellence in customer service. I then came to work at TFT and have worked my way up to my current role by working as an assessor and Exam Team Manager.
About Me: I have always loved the travel industry, as an agent and a customer, because there are so many interesting and lovely people to meet. I have a real passion for providing excellent service and, having started my career as an apprentice, take pride in my role which allows me to help TFT provide the ongoing support and guidance to the apprentices of today.
